Serov was an outstanding Russian portrait painter in the alternate period of the nineteenth century and twentieth Century. And he was an important representative of Russian realism painting at the beginning of this century. Born in a music composer and activist family in St. Petersburg, Serov had received a good art education. At the age of 9, Servos began to follow Repin to study painting.
